SayYours AmazonFrom New York Times Bestseller, Corinne Michaels, comes a new second chance standalone romance.

I spent twenty years waiting for Trent Hennington to open his eyes and see me. But it was all for nothing. He chose to keep himself guarded and let me walk away, proving that my time and efforts were wasted.

I’m done being invisible.
It’s time to move on.

A single dance sets my new reality into motion, and I welcome it. After all, Cooper Townsend is perfect. He’s kind, sexy, and attentive–everything a girl could want.

I thought I got it right this time.
That my heart could mend, and I would be happy.
Apparently, some things really are just too hard to walk away from.

Review:

Grace is tired of Trent treating her the way he has.  For twenty years they have been on and off.  She needs to move on with her life.  What better way than to attempt to date her best friend’s sexy brother.  What she doesn’t expect is that Trent is no where near done with her.  He never really expected Grace to leave him.  When he realizes he could lose her forever it is just the push he needs to finally get himself together.  But, will it be too late for him to salvage something that has been right in front of him all this time?

Prepare to go on one hell of an emotional roller coaster.  This was a phenomenal book.  I haven’t had a good cry inducing book in a while.  You will want to read this with a box of tissues next to you.  Grace and Trent’s love is so deep you will feel it through the pages.  You will feel the pain they go through and all the hard decisions Grace must make you will feel her indecision.  This entire book is filled with love.  The stories of each set of parents and the pain of loss is truly a tangible thing thanks to Corrine Michaels’ talent as a story teller.  This was my first Corrine Michaels book but it most certainly won’t be my last.  If your looking for a good romantic emotional read you will want to pick this book up.

Review: Crazy Over You by Daisy Prescott

COY_Banner_LIVE

Happy Thursday!  Today I get to bring to you the newest book by the very awesome Daisy Prescott.  This is her second novel in her A Love with Altitude series.  I adored this book.  It has Daisy Prescott’s wonderful humor and romance blended with the back drop of the mountains.  for my full review keep reading after the book blurb.  Have a great pre-friday!

businessman working on laptop in black suitBook Blurb:

My savior isn’t prince charming.

I’m not that lucky.

He’s my worst nightmare.

He’s my one night stand from two years ago.

And he doesn’t remember me.

What happens on vacation doesn’t always stay on vacation. Especially in a place like Aspen. I moved to the mountains for my dream vet job. I never expected to run into the man of my dreams. Again.

I never thought I’d see her again.

My Cinderella didn’t leave me a shoe to find her.

Not that I’d need random footwear to recognize her.

Her kiss is something I’ll never forget.

Work hard. Play hard. I’m paid to be a nice guy on the slopes, but what I do in my off time isn’t always about making good choices. That’s the fun of living in a ski town. I stay while the women come and go.

Crazy Over You is a standalone romantic comedy and the second book in the Love with Altitude series.

Review:

Mara finds herself having mad a bad choice.  She is on a double black diamond slope when she is just above a bunny slope level.  On top of everything she is having a panic attack.  When her savior arrives in the form of a very sexy ski patroller she can’t help but feel like she’s seen those dimples before.  When recognition hits her she realizes he doesn’t remember her.  Jesse loves his job.  Especially when he comes to the rescue of a beautiful woman on the ski slope.  She seems to know her but knows he definitely didn’t have sex with her.  As the two dance around their remembrance of that one nigh long ago, they must decide if the feelings they have now are left over lust or the start of something new.  Can a real love develop in a town where vacation romances are the only thing that happens?

I loved this book.  Mara’s drunken memories of her and Jesse’s “one night stand”, their banter and their growing love really made for a page turner. Mara and Jesse aren’t the only great things about this book.  The quirky town folk who live their year round make for a well rounded cast of characters.  Not to mention the non-human ones.  Fred and George, Mara’s diabolical cats, make for some very entertaining scenes.  Each page turn will have you panting for more.  Not just the sexier than hell sex scenes but also the wonderful romance that develops from a drunken night years ago.   I am not a skier in any sense of the word but I would totally go to aspen just to find these hot ski patrol guys.  If you are looking for a phenomenally funny love story with crazy animals and people you will want to pick this book up.

Dillon Keck knew Ashlyn Mayson was drunk when she suggested they get married. He knew he should have taken her back to their hotel room and put her to bed. Instead, he did what he had been craving to do since the moment they met.

Claim her as his.

Waking up married in Vegas isn’t something Ashlyn Mayson ever thought would happen to her. Having Dillon, her boss, a man she thinks is a dick, insist they stay married is absurd, but every time he touches her, she gets lost in him and wonders if maybe they are meant to be together.

But someone isn’t happy for Dillon and Ashlyn and their new found romance, and they’re willing to do anything to keep them apart. Even commit murder.

Review:

From the moment Ashlyn runs into Dillon the very first time she knows that she is unbelievably attracted to him.  That is until she talks to him.  She realizes he’s bossy, arrogant and she can’t stand him.  When she has to go to Vegas with him for a conference she doesn’t plan on having to share a room with him let alone ending up married to him.  But after she wakes up from being trashed the night before she finds him in her bed and his ring on her finger.  Can they figure out their future even as a threat is trying to pull them permanently?

I loved this book.  Dillon is such an alpha.  He doesn’t take no for an answer.  He also doesn’t accept they are going to get divorced or they are living in separate places.  Ashlyn was fun too.  She is pretty tough with Dillon but like a lot of female characters in books similar to this her attraction makes her forget any negative feelings she may have.  I would say that is only real critical thing I have about these types of books.  I loved the story and their feelings for one another.  Overall, this is a great romance and a fun story that anyone who likes a good romance will love this book.

Review: Then She Danced by Janice Godin

Happy Monday!  Today I bring to you a fantastic book about finding love after suffering something horrible.  This beautifully written book was both entertaining and emotional.  For my full review keep reading after the book blurb.

32854858Book Blurb:

Everyone in Kathleen’s life thinks she’s crazy when she decides to spend her well-earned summer working in a tiny, dusty attic sorting through old church papers, but the peace and quiet of working alone is exactly what she wants.

She’s back home again and happy, or as happy as anyone who’s left behind a troubled past can be. She has amazing coworkers, a wonderful best friend, a supportive family, and not one single person in her life who knows what she’s been through. So, when Kathleen stumbles across an old French diary written by a battered wife, she connects with the story and Emilie.

Kathleen’s life changes when she meets Grant, a gorgeous local man with a past of his own. Their connection is undeniable, even for her, and proves that second chances are possible if she can just leave her past behind.

Review:

Though everyone in Kathleen’s life thinks she’s crazy, Kathleen is finding her way through the summer by working in a dusty attic.  The peace she finds becomes what she’s always needed.  Now that she has found her way home she sees the wonderful friends and family she has but none of them know what truly happened to her.  Soon her life unexpectedly changes and love falls in her lap.  But will she let her past let her push her new future away or will she work through her pain and open herself.

I really love the transformation of this story.  Kathleen’s character truly grows.  The reader will feel the pain that she goes through as the tough decisions she makes alter her future.  I also loved the diary aspect of this story.  It was the real catalyst that made the change happen.  The story itself was multi-dimensional and intense.  It drew me in and really brought out emotions that only a wonderfully written story can.

Review: Heartborn by Terry Maggert

Happy Monday!  Today I bring to you a wonderful fantasy book.  Terry Maggert does a phenomenal job of creating a world full of angels and humans.  It is both inventive and entertaining.  For my full review keep reading after the book blurb.  Have a wonderful week ahead.

29755190Book Blurb:

Her guardian angel was pushed.

Keiron was never meant to be anything other than a hero. Born high above in a place of war and deception, he is Heartborn, a being of purity and goodness in a place where violence and deceit are just around every corner.

His disappearance will spark a war he cannot see, for Keiron has pierced the light of days to save a girl he has never met, for reasons he cannot understand. Livvy Foster is seventeen, brave, and broken. With half a heart, she bears the scars of a lifetime of pain and little hope of survival.

Until Keiron arrives.

In the middle of a brewing war and Livvy’s failing heart, Keiron will risk everything for Livvy, because a Heartborn’s life can only end in one way: Sacrifice.

Fall with Livvy and Keiron as they seek the truth about her heart, and his power, and what it means to love someone who will give their very life to save you.

Review:

Keiron was born to be special.  Livvy was born with half a heart.  Keiron’s life has led up to his fall to help Livvy.  Livvy was born to never survive, but it is her survival that will allow Keiron’s people to live.  Together they will find something fleeting and special.  Will the two of them be able to change Keiron’s world while saving Livvy’s life?

This was an incredibly interesting and entertaining story.  I loved the flow of the story.  It may flip from Earth to Sliver quite a bit but it is quite intrigal to the tale.  Keiron and Livvy’s portions are so sweet and you will feel every emotion that passes between the two of them.  The intrigue in Sliver keeps you on your toes until the very last moment.  Between the story in Sliver and the one on Earth you will learn with it truly means to love and give someone your heart.  I truly fell in love with this story and its characters. I hope we get to see more of Livvy and the people in Sliver.

Review: Plan Interrupted by Valerie Clarizio

Welcome to another week and another great book.  I am happy to share with you a new book by Valerie Clarizio.  This is a wonderful love story with a hint of suspense.  For my full review keep reading after the book blurb.  Have a wonderful week ahead!

26986776Book Blurb:

Elizabeth Shaw’s professional life is going according to plan until she meets the handsome widower and his two young children next door. Having shelved her personal life to land her dream job, she disregards her romantic feelings for him. But the forces of nature have other ideas for her.

Joe Antonetti has made his children his main focus since the death of his wife. But his beautiful neighbor becomes an irresistible distraction and has him wondering if he can change her priorities.

Surrendering to their attraction for each other causes another player to step in with his own plan for Elizabeth. One that could not only end the budding romance but her life as well.

Review:

Elizabeth has a plan.  Her life plan is streamlined and focused solely on her career.  But, when she meets her neighbor and his children things begin to change.  What she once wanted now seems to be less important, but when the unspeakable happens and she is stalked by that person she must decide what is really important.  Should she stick the plan at all costs or just go with what life has in store for her?

I really enjoyed this book.  Elizabeth is a very strong but flawed character.  She hides behind her plan so that she doesn’t have to face the harsh world.  Unfortunately, the harshness finds her and she is forced to face things she never planned for.  Woven into this is a sweet love story.  Not just a story about a man and a woman but her love for his children also.  With the great romance and suspense expertly woven together any reader will find it difficult putting this book down until the last page is turned.  If I wasn’t already a fan of Valerie Clarizio, I would be one after reading this book.

YA Corner: Charmed Memories by Mary Waibel

Today’s Young Adult spotlight is a wonderful paranormal romance.  Charmed Memories takes us on a journey to kingdoms where magic is real and so are the mermaids.  It’s a love story that all women wanted to have when they were young.  Be sure you check out my review after the book review its full of princes and princesses and did I mention…mermaids.

17661982Book Blurb:

“A prince vows to prove the girl he loves is his missing princess by recovering her lost memories.”

Prince Trevor has always placed duty to his kingdom above the desires of his own heart. But when his betrothed is lost at sea, he finds himself torn between honor and love.

After four years of searching for the missing princess, he begins to secretly long for Lady Bri, the Woodland Guide he works with each day. But the law says he must marry a princess, and Bri is barely a noble.

When Trevor learns that Bri shipwrecked at the same time and place as the princess, he begins to believe he has finally found his bride-to-be. But his happiness is short lived. Bri has no memory of her past, and the princess wasn’t the only girl who disappeared from the ship.

Desperate to prove Bri is his princess, Trevor unwittingly places the two of them in grave danger. Buried in Bri’s memories are deadly secrets someone wants kept from the light of day, and learning who she is may cost more than either is willing to pay.

Review:

Charmed Memories starts with the disappearance of a princess four years ago.  After four years has passed, Prince Trevor still endeavors to find his missing betrothed.  Though he still searches he sees Lady Bri the Woodland Guide as a very tempting option and after two years of working together he begins to admit that more than friendship is in his heart.  When Trevor gets a lead on his missing princess he and Bri must travel to her homeland.  While there he discovers Bri may be one of the two missing girls and possible his princess.  The problem is Bri has no memory of before the last four years.  To try and jog her memory Trevor insists on taking Bri to the homeland of the missing princess.  While there they find many intrigues attempting to harm the royal family.  As Trevor’s feelings deepen for Bri he has to come to the realization that Bri may not be his princess and she may have to marry another. Intrigues swirl around Bri, Trevor and the Royal Family.  Can they solve who is trying to eliminate the Royal Family before it’s too late and with that will Bri’s memories come back?  With those memories will it mean a happily ever after for Bri and Trevor or will they live forever apart.

I adored this story.  I loved Bri and Trevor’s relationship.  Though he is a very typical boy in expressing his feelings at the wrong time to give the wrong idea.  He redeems himself with Bri.  I did appreciate that Bri didn’t automatically say she was the princess.  It brought a level of realism to the emotions with Bri acknowledging on a continual basis that she may not be who Trevor wants her to be.  I also enjoyed the world Mary Waibel created.  It’s a touch of magic and whimsy with a real feel.  Overall, I thought this was a great young love story.  I would definitely recommend this for anyone interested in a touch of love, a touch of intrigue/suspense and a touch of paranormal.
