Review: Jilted by Sawyer Bennett

Hollywood hath no fury like a woman scorned. In this fun, flirty second-chance romance from New York Times bestselling author Sawyer Bennett, an aspiring starlet reconnects with her first love.

“Sawyer Bennett never fails to deliver heroes I fall hard for and heroines I adore.”—Violet Duke

Eden Goodnight went to Los Angeles to make it big, not to be publicly humiliated by her cheating fiancé at a red-carpet premiere. But when Eden returns to her hometown to put the scandal behind her, she can barely find a sympathetic shoulder to cry on. Turns out the locals are worse than the paparazzi, and they all think she’s turned into a spoiled brat. But in a strange twist of fate, the one person who seems to understand what Eden’s going through is Cooper Mayfield . . . the boy she left behind.

Small-town charm is no match for the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. At least that’s what Coop’s been telling himself all these years. As Eden’s old flame—and the landscaper for her family’s historic home—Coop feels some responsibility for getting her out of her funk. But as soon as he sees that million-dollar smile, he’s a goner. Soon they’re making out like teenagers again. But when a life-changing role falls into Eden’s lap, Coop just hopes she doesn’t give up on a love that’s meant to be.

Review:

Eden just had her world turned upside down on the red carpet.  She runs to the one place she knows noone will know to find her.  What she doesn’t expect to find is, Coop,  the ex-boyfriend whose heart she broke by leaving the first time.  He isn’t the only surprise.  She receives far from a warm welcome and things are more different than she thought.  Just when she begins to regret coming home again.  Coop and Eden soon find a way to get along in the most delicious way.  What they don’t expect is to find themselves in the same predicament they had before.  Can Coop and Eden finally get their happy ending or will history repeat itself?

I adored this book.  Eden and Coop are the best former high school sweethearts that I’ve read in a while.  Their chemistry is palpable from the moment they see each other again for the first time.  I think this second chance love story has the perfect mix of sweet and sexy.  The story weaves a wonderful combination of misunderstandings, fame, small town gossip and love.  Sawyer Bennett is masterful in her ability to write a story that will envelop its reader.  I couldn’t put this down until I turned the last page.  I know you will agree when you pick it up.  The perfect beach read with sex, sass, love and hollywood glam.

Review: Bitch Slap by J. Kenner

The first time I met her I wanted to slap her.

The second time, I knew I had to have her.

As for the third time, a gentleman doesn’t tell.

So I guess it’s a good thing I’m no gentleman … right?

Let’s get this out of the way, right off the bat: I love women.

I love the way they look. The way they smell. The way they feel. Especially the way they feel. And I’ve pretty much made it my mission to give each and every woman who shares my bed the ride of her life.

Then I met her. Bitchy as hell and completely uninterested in me. And damned if I didn’t want her. Crave her. I told myself I only wanted to tame her. That it was all about the challenge.

I never expected to break through that ice queen exterior and find the softness underneath. Never expected how wild she’d be between the sheets or the way she’d cry my name with such sincere intensity when I totally rocked her world.

Most of all, I never expected to fall for her.

But I did.

And the question is, now that I know I want her, how the hell do I go about keeping her?

Review:

Pierce doesn’t do relationships.  But, the minute he mistakes Jez for his hook up he knows he needs her.  Even if he wants to slap her first.  Once Pierce begins to understand Jez and her problems he knows that he wants to be there for her no matter what.  When things get tough will Pierce stick around for Jez or will he be like the others before him?

This was a wonderful book.  A steamy romance mixed with hollywood drama and a the backlash of a teenager growing up in the spotlight.  Pierce and Jez are a wonderful match.  Her sassy mixed with his sexy allows for a read that will have you panting for the next page.  The little bit of suspense with the angst of teenagers in the spotlight propel this story in a way a generic romance lacks.  This is definitely a great read by J. Kenner.  If you are looking for your next steamy beach read, look no further than Bitch Slap by J. Kenner.  I guarantee you won’t regret it.
